Life Is Chance Working Against Destiny!

Welcome to the wonderful life of a poetic musician, and just one odd guy..and his mug.
Let me extend the welcoming also too a chain-smoking, a belligerent drunk, and a tongue-cheek personality.
Serge Gainsbourg you can come out now.

"Gainsbourg, Heroic Life" Biopic travels into Serge Gainsbourg life. An interesting Biopic that uncovering the layers of a musical genius.
The film starts off with Serge's love for painting, and dislike for music.
A young boy with a vivacious imagination, and a fantasy of one suave persona. That's until "The Mug" came along; which enticed Serge to indulge in vain pursuits.

Eventually, this lead to the end of chasing a life as painting artist.
Once this passion was dissolved, "The Mug" made him an offer Serge couldn't refuse.. wealth, women, and fame.

However, it does come with a price..

Yet, Serge Gainsbourg dysfunctional ways may have lead to his risque music, which was considered brilliant (and, it is), but his personal life was always in shambles.

Although, this film is an artsy biography reference to comics, comedy, and poetry. However, it was also quite romantic, and very sexy.
Through, this journey Serge Gainsbourg went through array of ardent love affairs, with women such as: Juliette Gréco, Brigitte Bardot, & Jane Birkin and many other women.
His need for love sex was so prevalent; that this was less like a biography, and more like History of L'amour..
With extremely romantic moments with Jane Birkin dancing to "La Javanaise", and too even the liaison with Brigitte Bardot.

"Gainsbourg, Heroic Life" is sensual, and quite sad at the same time.
"Gainsbourg, Heroic Life" present Serge Gainsbourg life in a very creative way. Not at all a typical Biopic.

The complex personality of Serge Gainsbourg was showcased in a way that presented his weakness, and strength... that ended this heroic life.

I was going to wait to review this film, but I just loved how unique, and different this biopic was presented.
I haven't been this crazy about a film since "La Vie en Rose".
This film is full of amazing one line quotes that are memorable.
Great Film.
